Voices of dance questions artists status for dancers

19 February 2021

The federal government of Belgium is considering to reform the artist status, the specific unemployment rules for artists.

In response to this, Voices of Dance is looking for information and experiences about the artist statute from the dance community.

They will use this information to advocate for dancers in upcoming meetings with State of the Arts (SOTA), Artiestencoalitie and others.

Fill out the survey

Are you working in the dance field as choreographer, dancer, teacher and do you have an experience with the artist statute?

Fill out the survey

Anyone can contribute to the questionnaire: whether you have the status, don’t have it, ever had it but lost it, have tried to get it, etc.

Please give your feedback before February 27th 2021.

This questionnaire is trying to be a record of the many voices of dance communities across Belgium. Please share this link with dancers / dance practitioners. The survey is made in Duch, English as well as French.

What is Voices of dance?

The initiators: For the moment, voices of dance is a call to gather voices from the many dance communities in Belgium. By gathering, we aim to make voices heard on a political level in relation to the Flemish government.

We have had several Zoom meetings that anybody is welcome to join. We are in the early stages of organising, so as part of these meetings, we are talking about how to reach people in a collective effort to gather as many voices as possible.

In doing so, we also discuss the need to bolster and develop systems of support and care within existing communities.

We hope to hear you all soon!
