How do you create the right context for children to develop? How do you harness children’s enthusiasm so that they can acquire the basics of contemporary dance? What about taking the immense potential of children as your starting point?
After an interactive workshop in which you discover how children learn naturally, you will get to work with a playful approach to “Stop and Dance” (in Dutch: “Een Stil(l) in Dans”), a card game containing 50 fun dance assignments for children.
Programme
10:00-12:00 How do children learn naturally?
13:00-16:00 Stop and Dance, learning to work with the card game and assignments
Teacher
Anne-Lore Baeckeland is responsible for the educational range on offer at Danspunt. Since graduating from the Fontys Dance Academy, she has constantly sought the best way to introduce children to dance. Freinet, Montessori and Loris Malaguzi have supplied some of the answers, but the children themselves are the ones who come up with the best ideas. She has worked for various theatres and art organisations, is a co-founder of Cacao Bleu and runs Bal Spécial in Liège.
