Two choreographers with very different backgrounds to each other will each work with a group for three days. With boundless generosity, they will show you the tricks of their trade and you will gain new perspectives with which you can develop your own work.
The three days will be concluded with an exchange between the groups, when research and small compositions will be shown to each other.
It’s up to you which choreographer you work with.
1 Koen De Preter – From Research and Improvisation
For three days, you will be immersed in a bath of choreographic tools. We will work together with your questions about working with choreography. Koen will challenge you to allow movement to emerge from research and improvisation, where the confrontation with yourself and your chosen themes will determine the individuality of your work. You can start from a blank piece of paper or from a project on which you are already working.
2 Michaël Boucherie – Systems of Dance Composition
How to create a dance phrase, and how to create an entire choreography to your favourite music with it, irrespective of the style in which you work, be it classical, modern jazz, hip hop or contemporary.
